This is the third release of WhistlePig FarmStock Rye. The brand calls its "Triple Terroir Whiskey" and is released July 2019. This is a blend of straight rye whiskeys, two from Canada and one the brand's own Vermont-distilled rye. The latter whiskey makes up a majority of the blend and is made from estate-grown rye, brought to proof with their own water and aged in Vermont white oak barrels.
On the nose it is sweet and aromatic, with vanilla, sweet cherries, roasted chestnuts and hints of cigar box. On the palate you get oak, toffee and baking spices which forms a buttery, coating mouthfeel. It then shows soft notes of creme brulee and rose petals come forth. The finish is gentle, warm, and lasting, with a pleasant Rye spice.
