- San Matias Gran Reserva Extra Anejo T...
DESCRIPTION
Tequila San Matias is one of the oldest distilleries in Mexico, and to commemorate a century and change of tradition in 1993, they released one of the first "extra-aged" tequilas on the market. The spirit is made from 100% agave grown in the Jalisco highlands that is harvested between 7 - 10 years. It spends three years in a combination of American (ex-bourbon) and French oak.
This special Gran Reserva Tequila is cellared for at least three (3) years in White Oak barrels. It has a sublime natural amber color and unmistakable aroma and taste.
Tasting notes:
A balance between tequila and liqueur from super-concentrated elixir.
Palate: Has a sweet, rich, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel, pecan coat.
Nose: Consists of tropical flavors of pineapple and mango mixed with a bit of pine sashay.

One the better sippers
One of the nicest sipping tequilas out there. Very smooth and not overly sweet. This not called an extra tequila not so long ago but whatever they call it, its a staple in my cabinet.
