Released in 2013, The Balvenie Single Barrel Single Malt Scotch Whiskey was matured in first-fill bourbon casks for at least 12 years before bottling. It is realeased as a younger sibling to the 15 Year Old single cask. The Balvenie Malt Master hand selects only those casks characterized by sweetness and subtle vanilla oakiness to be bottled as The Balvenie Single Barrel. Each bottling forms a limited edition of no more than 300 hand-numbered bottles drawn from a single cask. No two casks—even of the same type and filled with spirit from the same distillation—will produce an identical single malt, so each bottling is unique and unrepeatable.
